The syllabus for the JEE Main Paper 1 exam covers three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics. The entire syllabus for Paper 2  is distributed in three parts which are: Aptitude, Drawing, and Mathematics. While for paper 3 topics are from Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning-based questions.

The candidates can also get the information on the syllabus in the official site provided by the NTA.

The JEE Main 2020 syllabus is based on the Class 11th and 12th courses. JEE’s main exam will last three hours and 75 questions in total will be addressed in three parts, i.e. for Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

Physics Syllabus for the JEE Main 2020

25 questions are asked from 25 questions. The syllabus for the physics that the candidate must mainly focus at is distributed in 5 sections:

  • Heat and Thermodynamics.
  • Electrostatics and Magnetism.
  • Current Electricity and Electromagnetic Induction.
  • Optics and Modern Physics.

Candidates should refer to the NCERT books first. It is advisable to refer to books that are conceptually based and help to clear doubts related to exam patterns. Here is a list of books which candidates can refer:-

In the Chemistry section, 25 questions will be asked out of which 20 questions are 20 and 5 questions are numerical value-based. There are three sections in chemistry:-

Reference Books for Mathematics

Mathematics is a difficult part of JEE Main 2020. To prepare for JEE Main 2020 candidates need to practice a lot. Priority should be given to the NCERT and then refer to other books. Here is a list of some mathematics reference books:-

The JEE Main is an MCQ based exam and will follow the same marking scheme, as previous years. The exam consists of questions that will be having four options amongst which it will consist of one correct answer. Candidates attempting for the correct answer will be awarded +4 marks for each answer and for a wrong answer the candidate will have a deduction of -1 marks for each wrong answer.
