If you search on the internet then you will get that there are more than 500 different programming languages. And it is not so easy to identify which one is the best programming language. There are lots of ways to rank programming languages. Here is the list of the most popular programming languages in 2021 based on the research data of May 2021.

1. JAVA

Java is the most popular, general-purpose, high-level, object-oriented programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. 15 billion devices are run by java, and around 10 million Java developers have worldwide. It is used to develop Android apps, desktop apps, web-based software, and games.

2. C

C It has always been one of the most popular programming languages. It”s a structure-oriented programming language developed by Dennis Ritchie in 1972 at Bell Laboratories for use in UNIX operating systems. It”s Reliable, Portable, Flexible, interactive, Modularity, Efficiency, and Effectiveness. C programming language is used to make  Operating Systems, Assemblers, Text Editors, Print Spoolers, Network Drivers, Modern Programs, Language Compiler, Databases, Language Interpreters, Database systems.

c++ is a general-purpose, object-oriented programming language developed by Bjarne Stroustrup. C++ have High-level language and low language both feature. C#  (pronounced “C-sharp”) is a modern, multi-purpose, object-oriented, simple programming language developed by the Microsoft.NET software framework in 2000. C# comes from c and c++. 6. PHP

PHP is a server-side scripting language created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994.it”s free and open-source software and can runs on different platforms like Unix, Linux, Windows. It”s  used to develop Static websites or Dynamic websites or Web applications. Most web hosting servers support PHP, so it”s a cost-effective choice. The two most popular internet giants WordPress and Facebook developed by PHP.

Visual Basic .NET is an Object-Oriented, simple, modern programming language designed by Microsoft IN 2001. It”s very simple and easy to learn. Visual Basic.NET is used to make desktop applications and web-based applications.

JavaScript (not Java) is one of the most widespread high-level and dynamic programming languages. It”s also known as the language of the web. It’s a mainly client-side, dynamic scripting language used for front-end development. Swift is an open-source general-purpose, multi-paradigm, compiled programming language developed by Apple in 2014. It”s open-source, so developers can also develop on Windows or Linux systems. Swift is the successor of Objective-C. it”s a new and fastest-growing programming language. Swift is used to building apps for iOS, macOS, WatchOS, and tvOS. And it reduces the length of the code and saves our time and energy.

10. Perl

Perl is a high-level,  stable, general-purpose, interpreted, dynamic and Cross-platform programming language developed by Larry Wall in 1987. Perl is a family of script programming languages. It”s works with HTML, XML, and other mark-up languages. It can be used for a large variety of tasks like making the desktop application, web application.

GO is a free, open-source, simple, efficient, and reliable programming language created at Google in 2009 by Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike, and Ken Thompson. It’s used by some of Google’s won production systems. Netflix, YouTube, and some other most popular websites also used GO. Many Go projects are also used for web servers, APIs, web application frameworks, etc.
