However, according to some studies, high Vitamin E and Vitamin C intake can compromise workout recovery. Vitamin K and zinc also offer a variety of health benefits. Vitamin K strengthens teeth, bones, and cartilage whereas zinc reinforces the overall immune system.

Don’t forget the antioxidants

Antioxidants are a crucial factor in eliminating free radicals that damage your cells. These molecules are produced when the body breaks down food. Antioxidants play an important role in protecting the body against heart diseases and cancer, so you should make an effort to include quality sources of antioxidants in your diet, foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices. You should also include anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats from fish, flax, chia seeds, and walnuts. These fats support muscle recovery and general wellness.
